The Home for Little Wanderers is the oldest child welfare agency in the country dating back to 1799. It has nearly 20 programs serving children, youth and families.
A volunteer can work in a program over a longer period of time or be involved in a one time only event like our annual "Voices & Visions" fundraiser and gala event. Whether your involvement is direct or "behind the scenes," the kids and families benefit greatly from your gift of volunteerism.
Here are just a few examples of how you can help:
  • Share a special talent or passion by leading an activity group (i.e. music, art, sports, dance, theater, cooking, yoga, or gardening)
  • Assist in a classroom or as an afterschool tutor
  • Provide administrative help at one of our program sites
  • Help older youth preparing for adulthood with job coaching and life-skills training
  • Provide childcare during parent support groups
