Formerly Twentieth Century Bowling Lanes, an establishment dating back before the 1950s. In more recent years, 20th Century became more known for its ice cream than its bowling. It's been upgraded and modernized a couple of times, and recently they have started to repaint the bowling lane area with some brighter, newer colors, but the lanes are still the same. They do not have a game room or pool tables, but they *DO* have bumper bowling for children. To understand the perfection of Ron’s brownie-nut ice cream, imagine dunking a brownie into a glass of ice-cold milk and then taking a bite. This place alone is worth the trip to Hyde Park.

The marble fireplace, high ceilings, and turn of the century details have charmed patrons for generations. In 1997 ground was broken for a new addition and a renovation of the existing building. The project, which doubled the size of the branch, was designed by Schwartz/Silver Architects.
The Hyde Park collection of local history is a distinctive aspect of the collection. In addition there are large collections of Children's picture books, quilting books and golf books.
Preschool story hours and films are offered weekly for children. Summer reading activities are an inspirational way to keep kids hooked on books when school's out.
Hyde Park recently completed renovations, and added a new glass annex, full of light. The marble fireplace, high ceilings, and turn of the century details have charmed patrons for generations.

This is a Great McDonald's for Families. One of the few Mickey Dees left in the City with a Playground inside for the kids to enjoy. Definitely a Great Birthday Party Idea or on a Rainey Day. There is plenty of seating inside of the Playground Area for everyone to enjoy themselves. Also a great way to meet other families hanging out.
There's a mix bag of folks inside too, very intergenerational vibe, right next door is a Housing Complex for the Elderly, a Shaw's Supermarket and Schools. Easily accessible by Public Transportation.
