Hyde Park is mainly a residential community with a unique mixture of cultures, which lends itself to a very warm, down-to-earth vibe as you walk through Hyde Park's Cleary Square. The Square is so quaint that it reminds you of some of the little towns located along the Cape. Cleary Square boasts an array of small shops on Fairmount Avenue, Hyde Park Avenue and River Street. Specialty businesses range from fine wine shops, like Albert Winestein to hometown eateries, like Dottie's Delicatessen. Every summer in July there is an Artscene Block Party that hosts music, food, vendors, and various activities for children. One of the main attractions in the square is Riverside Theatre Works, which hosts plays and theater workshops year-round.
